It was around 11am when we arrived at Rothenburg ob der Tauber from Munich. We almost lost our way from the train station to this place. The weather was not too good as it was raining and cloudy. When we saw a sandwich shop near by, we quickly went inside for some shelter. Fortunately the rain got smaller when we were about to finish our lunch. As the skies cleared we then began to explore this beautiful medieval old town. It seemed very quite and peaceful. The environment was clean and well preserved. Most of the shophouses are typical timbered houses. They come in various colors and the design is certainly one of a kind. We could see a lot of souvenir shops along the way. They are mostly handmade. Rothenburg ob der Tauber is also home to the German Christmas Museum. There were many Christmas shops where you can shop for Christmas decorations and experience the Christmas atmosphere all year long.

Plonlein (little square) with Sieber Tower and Kobolzeller Tower. Plonlein is one of the most famous places in Rothenburg ober der Tauber.
